Hello I must be going

Hi, I'm Kim, and I am not a blogger.
It took me a while to come to this conclusion. And, yes, I've been in a bit of denial about this, as well, thinking that if I just gave it enough time, I would find the inner strength to begin again.
But every time I thought about blogging, I found a distraction -- and it didn't take much. Another glass of wine (which might have made me a more entertaining blogger), a dishwasher that needed emptying, legs that needed shaving -- you get the picture.
The thing is, there are blogs I love to read. And I love to write. My theory is that because I write for my day job, the idea of writing for my night job just seemed too much like work.
There is a truth beneath that, though: The blog was designed around the idea of spending a month with a cookbook, using it on a day-in-day-out basis - not obsessively or exclusively, but with an eye toward gauging its essential usefulness.
Turns out I just like to cook.
Writing about what I just cooked was slipping into analyzing what I just cooked, which led to why and how and why not and 'what th?' sort of musings that could go on a little too long if I didn't police myself.
Policing themselves is not how anyone should spend their free time.
Still and yet......I'm keeping my thumb on this little piece of cyberspace real estate. Because there will come a time when I really want to write/vent/inform/wax/riff on something about food.
Edesia is the Roman goddesss of food preparation, and the muse for a monthly cookbook discussion that I host at a local Barnes & Noble. I've decided that she was a good enough muse to keep that gathering going - we being our third year on Jan. 25 - and that she will guide me to what the next incarnation of this blog will become.
So that's it for now.
Just wait. I'll probably post something tomorrow.
Isn't that just the way........
